G & T & a Slice comprises Gary Saunders with Tim & Sandra Robinson.
Gary Saunders claim to fame is playing with his own college group on the same bill as Tyrannosaurus Rex at the Lyceum. Gary plays finger style ballads from such diverse artists as Roy Orbinson, Semisonic, Buffalo Springfield, David Gray, Rolling Stones to his own compositions. Gary is a 55 year young Business Development Manager with Churchill Office Solutions Ltd, Erdington, and for the last 10 years has also raised awareness and funds for Motor Neurone Disease Research at the QE Hospital, Edgbaston, which is headed up by Professor Karen Morrison.
Tim Robinson has a unique finger style technique and plays melodies from jazz through folk to classical, with his own arrangement of songs ranging from the Beatles to his own self penned compositions. Tim has played both headline and support concerts and festivals throughout the UK, is well known for his own band Claret, has produced a number of CD’s and also teaches guitar from beginners to advanced groups. He also plays other musical instruments including the accordion & mandolin.
Sandra Robinson with an excellent musical pedigree, plays flute, guitar and vocals, and along with Tim plays in their own trio, Claret, who have headlined at numerous musical locations.
Gary together with Tim and Sandra, playing as G & T & a Slice, recently recorded on CD, Gary’s ballad compositions, “Christmas Love, Christmas Magic.” and “Song for You.” The former song is also being promoted by Barry Tomes from Gotham Records, Birmingham on a “Christmas in July” CD compilation with 12 unsigned artists and being launched on the 8th July 2006 at The Stage, Paradise Place, Birmingham. Gary has also produced a DVD video to accompany “Christmas Love, Christmas Magic” which features two young children waiting for the Xmas presents as one of Santa’s reindeers has become lost around Sutton Coldfield. Will Santa find his reindeer and deliver the presents in time?
